The Problem

A customer got in touch with us about being able to provide a custom fit bag for communication equipment. They had tried to find various bags that could fit their criteria but were unable to find any. The various bags were too small for the large piece of communication equipment. They needed a lightweight durable bag that could accommodate a large piece of communication equipment. They also wanted an internal pocket that would facilitate the use of a rigid material to provide stability to the soft bag and protect the communication equipment.

Mighty Pouch’s Solution

After talking with the customer we developed a soft bag that allowed for the communication equipment to be buckled into the pouch and an internal pocket for the rigid material to add strength and protection to the bag. The bag was constructed of tear-resistant nylon to add durability and two zipper slides for easy opening and closing of the large bag. The customer was very happy with the product and continues to look for other projects we can work on them with.

A customer came to us with a need for a protective case that could facilitate three devices for field technicians to carry conveniently. The devices that needed to be with the technicians were a Blackberry Playbook, a Blackberry phone with a card scanner, and a thermal receipt printer. The wanted the devices protected but together and in a convenient area for the individual utilizing it. Additional requirements were the ability to charge the devices inside the case, to be able to have the thermal printer print while in the case, a place for writing utensils, and a clear slot for an ID badge.

After going through a few prototypes and design ideas we finally came up with something that worked perfectly for the customer. We constructed the case completely out of neoprene with punches for the receipt printer and power ports. We were able to conveniently fit all the devices into the case with dividers. This protected all the devices from the abuses they would incur in the field. The customer wanted the addition of a flap to secure the items in the pouch and protect the devices from the outdoor elements. After meeting all the requirements of the customer we had a finished product that allowed for the technician to wear the pouch over their shoulder like a satchel or on their belt. The customer was very please with the product as well as the improved efficiency the pouch created by not having to travel back and forth to the truck to obtain the devices.

A customer contacted us because the screen on his tablet had cracked, and now he needed an especially protective case for his new giant Lenovo Horizon 2 27″. Mighty Pouch was happy to help. We worked with his requests, time frame, and budget to create the perfect custom tablet carry case.

We built a case out of rugged 1000 denier Nylon Cordura with a zipper closure on three sides, similar to a pizza box. This made it easier to retrieve and replace such a large device. We added 1/2″ foam borders to protect the top, bottom, and sides of the tablet. These foam inserts secured with genuine VELCRO, creating a protective “sandwich” around the device. For additional screen protection, we added a piece of plywood which would receive the brunt of any accidental impact. Extra customizations included a flat exterior pocket for storing papers, carry handles made with 2″ webbing, and a removable shoulder strap with metal hardware. We were late in shipping due to the complexity of the design, so we shipped the package Priority at our expense.

We filmed a video showing exactly what this case looks like and the reasoning behind the unique design. We also saved the pattern for this case, and we designed our own software that will allow us to recreate the same case for other items.

Mighty Pouch can make a custom case for anything – seriously! When a returning customer reached out to us requesting a carrying case for his SSUPD Meshlicious, we were excited to tackle the project. He specifically requested a shoulder strap for easy transportation and a pocket on the back for extra storage. We built this pouch out of cushioned 3mm neoprene, which provides soft protection for the device. We created a flap folding over the top of the SFF, which secured with a super buckle, and added an extra 1/4″ of depth to make it easier to retrieve and replace the unit. For the shoulder strap, we used metal hardware to ensure the durability of the case. The strap can be adjusted to the desired length.

Since this order, we have received additional orders for SFF carrying cases with different customizations. Below, we used the same design but added a rubber handle to the top flap for easy transportation. We also sewed a nylon pocket on the back for extra storage.

For another client, we sewed the same case and added two flat pockets to the front. The top pocket secures under the main flap, and the bottom pocket has a zipper closure.
